It’s amazing how many women carry heavier shopping bags filled with shoes and food, than they do lift weights. How many of us come out of the supermarket with arms straining, but then go into a gym, sit on a bike and read ‘HEAT’ Magazine? And maybe, just maybe lift a weight. A silver dumbbell with 2 or 3kg embedded on the side? Does this 2kg have an effect at all? In reality, your jewellery, shoes and handbag weigh more than that so me thinks not! If you are going to join a gym, then make use out of it.

I see so many women walking on the treadmill. Firstly I should say if you are taking it easy through a medical condition or injury then that is a whole different ball game, but I’m talking about 99% of us. Walk to the gym or walk home. Don’t go to the gym to walk. What a waste of money. Especially as you’ve just carried your heavy bag into the gym only to wear less clothes and carry no bag on the treadmill, thus carrying less weight to do exactly the same as you could have done walking home or a lunchtime walk! Thus going to the gym has been a pointless exercise of burning less calories. Do you see where I’m going here?
